Babson College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance position beginning Fall 2026. This is a full-time, one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal for a second year.

The Finance Division seeks faculty who enjoy teaching, publishing research, and mentoring students preparing for careers in business and finance.

About the Role

As a Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance, you will contribute to Babson’s mission of educating entrepreneurial leaders who create economic and social value worldwide.

You will teach students in Babson’s undergraduate and graduate business programs, while continuing to develop your research agenda in finance or economics.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching

You will teach five courses per academic year across Babson’s business programs.

Courses may include topics such as:

  • Corporate Finance
  • Financial Markets
  • Investments
  • Entrepreneurial Finance

Teaching formats may include:

  • Traditional semester courses
  • Half-semester modules
  • Day or evening classes
  • In-person or online delivery

Babson offers programs across Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.


Research

Faculty are expected to maintain an active research program in finance or economics.

Examples of research areas may include:

  • Corporate finance
  • Entrepreneurial finance
  • Financial markets
  • Venture capital and innovation

Service & Community Engagement

Faculty members contribute to the academic community through activities such as:

  • Supporting students and mentoring
  • Participating in faculty meetings or committees
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Finance Division

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • Ph.D. in Finance or Economics (Finance preferred)
  • ABD candidates considered with a confirmed completion date by Fall 2026

Compensation

This is an exempt faculty position with a salary range of:

$214,822 – $226,757 per year
