Position Overview

The Operations & Business Analytics Department at IE University’s Business School invites applications for multiple faculty positions in Operations Management and Data Analytics, with appointments beginning in September 2027.

Applications are welcome from candidates at different career stages. Outstanding candidates may be considered for appointment at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor, or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications, experience, and scholarly achievements.

The department seeks scholars broadly interested in empirical research in areas including operations management, supply chain management, service operations, decision making, and data analytics.

Candidates using non-experimental approaches—such as econometric modeling, analytics, machine learning, or optimization—and/or experimental methods, including field or laboratory experiments, are particularly encouraged to apply.

The department values diverse research approaches and welcomes candidates with backgrounds in operations management, management science, decision sciences, business analytics, data science, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Conduct high-quality research publishable in top-tier academic journals.
  • Teach courses in operations management, supply chain management, business analytics, data analytics, and related areas at the undergraduate, graduate, and/or executive levels.
  • Contribute to the intellectual life and strategic development of the department and IE University.
  • Provide academic leadership commensurate with their rank and experience.

Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • A Ph.D., or expected completion by the appointment date for junior candidates, in Operations Management, Management Science, Decision Sciences, Data or Business Analytics, or a related field from an internationally recognized institution.
  • For senior appointments, an established record of impactful research, teaching excellence, and academic leadership consistent with rank.
