About the Position

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate, graduate, and MBA courses in Management Information Systems (MIS) while developing a high-impact research program that supports the school's commitment to academic excellence and AACSB accreditation.

The department welcomes scholars whose work explores both traditional and emerging areas of Management Information Systems, particularly research relevant to emerging markets, digital innovation, artificial intelligence, business analytics, technology management, and organizations across the Middle East and Africa.

Faculty members are also expected to contribute to curriculum development, university service, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement.

All faculty members should be willing to teach introductory courses.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching

• Teach undergraduate, graduate, and MBA courses in Management Information Systems
• Design engaging and innovative course content
• Integrate emerging technologies and industry trends into the curriculum
• Supervise graduate research students
• Mentor junior faculty members when appropriate

Research and Scholarship

• Build a world-class research program in Management Information Systems
• Publish regularly in leading international academic journals
• Present research at major international conferences
• Secure competitive external research funding
• Develop collaborative research projects with business and industry partners

Leadership and Service

• Support departmental and university strategic initiatives
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across schools and departments
• Participate in academic committees and institutional service
• Represent AUC at national and international academic events

Industry and Community Engagement

• Build partnerships with industry, government, and nonprofit organizations
• Translate research into practical business and societal impact
• Support outreach activities that expand access to Management Information Systems education
• Develop applied research projects addressing real-world business challenges

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• A PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a closely related business discipline
• A degree from a reputable university, preferably accredited by AACSB and/or EQUIS
• An internationally recognized record of research excellence
• Publications within the past five years in:
  • ABDC A/A journals*, or
  • Scopus Q1/Q2 journals
• A strong commitment to research, university teaching, and academic service

Candidates nearing completion of their PhD may also be considered if they demonstrate:

• A strong and well-developed research agenda
• Excellent publication potential
• Success or strong potential in obtaining competitive research funding
