Finance Instructor (Full-Time, Remote)

Position Overview
Western Governors University (WGU) is seeking a full-time Finance Instructor to join its mission-driven team. This remote teaching position allows you to work from home while helping students achieve their academic and professional goals. The role involves a 40-hour weekly schedule that includes evenings and weekends, ensuring flexible support for learners in various time zones.

Responsibilities
• Provide one-on-one and group academic support to help students master finance competencies.
• Monitor learner progress, identify challenges early, and offer personalized guidance.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise in finance and teaching methods.
• Use virtual teaching tools and data insights to improve student outcomes.
• Collaborate with other faculty to foster an engaging, student-centered learning environment.
• Meet communication and service-level expectations with professionalism and urgency.
• Adapt to changing academic priorities, deadlines, and technologies.
• Participate in departmental training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
• Education: Minimum of 15+ graduate credit hours in Finance. A terminal degree (PhD or DBA) in Finance is preferred.
• Experience:
– At least 2–3 years of higher education teaching, ideally in an online setting.
– 3–5 years of professional finance experience (corporate finance, investment, or financial management).
• Preferred Certifications: CFA, CPA, CMA, CFP, or FPAC.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, online learning tools, and student management systems.
• Key Abilities:
– Break down complex concepts into clear, easy-to-understand lessons.
– Deliver outstanding student support and service.
– Manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
• Must reside in the continental United States and maintain a quiet, dedicated home office setup.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 20%).

Compensation & Benefits
• Salary Range: $71,300 – $107,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity).
