The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) invites applications for a Faculty β Tourism Management position. This full-time academic role is ideal for educators who combine strong teaching skills with industry experience in tourism, hospitality, and business.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching

Teach Tourism Management and related business courses.

Deliver practical, student-focused lessons that meet program outcomes.

Use educational technology to create engaging learning experiences.
-
Adapt teaching methods for second-language learners.
-
Prepare lesson plans, projects, examinations, and learning activities.
-
Provide timely feedback that supports student development.
Student Support
-
Advise and mentor students throughout their studies.
-
Hold regular office hours.
-
Monitor academic progress.
-
Support students during internships and work placements.
-
Work with colleagues to assist students who need additional support.
Assessment
-
Design and mark exams, assignments, and projects.
-
Maintain accurate student grades.
-
Contribute to question banks and assessment development.
-
Monitor learning outcomes and student achievement.
Research and Scholarly Activity

Conduct applied research related to tourism, hospitality, and business.

Support the UAE's national innovation priorities.

Present research at conferences.
-
Mentor student research projects.
Academic Service
Faculty members are expected to:

Serve on academic committees.

Participate in curriculum development.

Advise student organizations when assigned.
Administrative Duties
Responsibilities also include:

Preparing Course Assessment Reports and electronic course files.

Supporting system-wide course management.
-
Participating in accreditation and continuous improvement activities.

Assisting with examination invigilation.
-
Completing other academic duties assigned by the supervisor.
Leadership
Faculty members are encouraged to:

Qualifications
Applicants should meet one of the following:

Ph.D. in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Business, or a closely related discipline.

Master's degree with a relevant professional certification plus 5 years of teaching and industry experience.

Bachelor's degree with extensive professional industry experience and recognized industry certifications (where applicable).
Preferred Experience
Successful candidates will typically have:

At least 3 years of teaching experience in higher education.

At least 3 years of relevant industry experience (preferred).

Experience developing curriculum aligned with accreditation standards.

Experience using educational technology in teaching.

Strong communication and student engagement skills.
-
Experience working in multicultural learning environments.
Work Schedule
-
Full-time appointment.
-
Minimum 36.5 working hours per week.
-
Regular workweek is Monday to Friday.

Occasional Saturday assignments may be required for institutional examinations.

Typical teaching workload is 15 credit hours during both Fall and Spring semesters.
