Position Overview
The American University of Rome (AUR) invites applications for a full-time Open Rank Professor in Business Administration, beginning in Fall 2026. This faculty role offers the chance to teach in a diverse, international environment while helping to grow a well-established Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program with concentrations in Economics, Finance, Marketing, and Social Marketing. AUR also offers a BS in Travel and Tourism Management.

The selected candidate will shape the future of the program by teaching and mentoring students, enhancing curriculum design, engaging with external partners, and advancing scholarly research. This is a rare opportunity to live and work in Rome, Italy, at one of the oldest American universities abroad.

Responsibilities
• Teach courses across the business core and program electives
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students and support student clubs
• Contribute to curriculum updates and program development
• Pursue scholarly research, publications, or professional projects
• Serve on university committees and participate in faculty governance
• Serve (in rotation) as Program Director
• Organize and promote program activities such as seminars, conferences, and publications
• Build networks with academic and professional partners in Italy and Europe
• Support resource development, such as partnerships and visiting faculty engagement

Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Business Administration or related discipline (or DBA)
• Teaching experience in an American university context
• Academic administrative experience
• Established record of scholarly research and publication
• Familiarity with instructional technologies and online course management systems
• Commitment to teaching in a student-focused, small-class environment
• Excellent oral and written English

Preferred Characteristics
• Experience teaching in an American liberal arts environment
• International teaching or professional experience
• Professional background in business or industry
• Specialization in finance, entrepreneurship, or management
