The Department of Business at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) invites applications for a tenure-track Associate Professor of Management (or higher). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced scholar who enjoys teaching, research, and working with students in an international academic community.

Located in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, AUBG is a private, American-style liberal arts university where all courses are taught in English. The university serves nearly 1,300 students from more than 40 countries and has an internationally diverse faculty representing over 23 nationalities.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate Management courses while maintaining an active research agenda. Faculty members also mentor students and contribute to the department and university through service and collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities

• Teach six courses per academic year.
• Deliver courses in Management, Sustainability, and/or Entrepreneurship.
• Conduct high-quality scholarly research.
• Publish in respected academic journals.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Participate in departmental, university, and professional service.
• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and the broader academic community.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• A Ph.D. in Management or a closely related discipline.
• Current appointment as an Associate Professor or Full Professor.
• A strong record of scholarly publications appropriate to academic rank.
• Experience teaching university-level courses in English.
• Experience with liberal arts education or a willingness to embrace the American liberal arts teaching model.
• A collegial, collaborative, and student-focused approach.

Preferred Qualification

Applications are especially welcomed from candidates who are habilitated in Bulgaria or another European country.
