Assistant Professor, Operations & Supply Chain Management

The Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Operations and Supply Chain Management. The expected start date is July 1, 2027, or another mutually agreed date.

These tenure-track faculty positions offer the chance to build a successful academic career at one of Canada's leading research universities. Successful candidates will develop a strong research program, teach undergraduate and graduate students, supervise doctoral students, and contribute to the growth of the Faculty of Management.

Both positions are subject to final budget approval.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Professor, you will:

• Build and maintain an active, high-impact research program.
• Publish research in leading peer-reviewed journals.
• Seek external research funding, including Tri-Agency and industry-supported grants.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in operations and supply chain management.
• Supervise PhD students in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program.
• Mentor students and support their academic success.
• Participate in faculty committees, service activities, and academic initiatives.
• Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive academic community.

Required Qualifications

Successful candidates should have:

• A completed PhD or be near completion of a PhD in:
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Operations Management
  • Operations Research
  • Management Science
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Or a closely related discipline
• A strong research record or clear potential to publish in high-quality academic journals.
• The ability to develop a competitive, externally funded research program.
• Expertise in research methods related to operations or supply chain management.
• Evidence of teaching excellence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral education.
• A commitment to collegial service within the university and the profession.
• A demonstrated commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
