Position Overview

The Department of Finance at the George Washington University School of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance position beginning in Fall 2027.

Candidates from all areas of finance will be considered. The Department seeks applicants with demonstrated potential to conduct high-quality, impactful research and contribute effectively to undergraduate and graduate teaching programs.

Particular consideration is given to candidates whose research incorporates emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, or FinTech, or who can contribute to teaching in these areas.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct high-quality, impactful finance research.
  • Publish research in top finance journals.
  • Teach high-quality courses for undergraduate students in the School of Business.
  • Teach high-quality courses for graduate students in the School of Business.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field, completed or expected to be completed by the date of appointment.

Salary and Benefits

The advertised salary range is $250,000–$285,000 per year. Salary is commensurate with experience and established research record.
