Position Overview
Queen’s University, Smith School of Business in Kingston, Ontario, seeks a full-time Assistant Professor in Digital Technology. This is a tenure-track faculty position starting July 1, 2026. The role focuses on Information Systems (IS) and how digital technologies influence human behavior, organizational decision-making, and social outcomes. The ideal candidate will join a world-class academic environment known for research excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct independent, high-quality research that advances theory and practice in digital technology and information systems.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and actively pursue external research funding.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, showing strong potential for teaching excellence and engaging learning.
  • Collaborate across disciplines within the Digital Technology area group.
  • Contribute to service activities within the School, University, and broader community.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold, or be near completion of, a PhD or equivalent degree in Information Systems or a related field at the time of appointment. ABD candidates must complete their PhD within one year of joining. Candidates must show:

  • Strong research record or potential demonstrated through publications or working papers.
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
  • Evidence of effective teaching skills and dedication to continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility in both research and teaching.
