Professor of Business Intelligence & Data Analytics (AGU)

About the Position

Arabian Gulf University (AGU) in Manama, Bahrain, invites applications for a full-time Professor of Business Intelligence & Data Analytics position at the Associate Professor or Professor level.

The successful candidate will teach graduate courses, supervise master's and PhD students, and conduct high-quality research. The role focuses on business intelligence, data analytics, data mining, management information systems, simulation, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Teach and coordinate graduate courses in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, and Data Mining.
• Supervise master's theses and PhD dissertations.
• Conduct research in business intelligence, advanced analytics, big data, and decision support systems.
• Publish research in respected academic journals.
• Develop and update academic courses and programs to reflect new developments in business intelligence and analytics.
• Serve on department, college, program, and university committees.
• Support accreditation and quality assurance activities.
• Work with other faculty members on academic and research projects.
• Build research partnerships with local and international institutions.
• Help connect academic research with business, government, and industry needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• A PhD from an accredited university in Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• A strong research record, including at least 10 published research papers in Q1 or Q2 journals in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related areas.
• Proven experience teaching graduate-level courses.
• Experience supervising graduate students.
• Experience with academic program development and accreditation.
• Experience in research collaboration or consulting with public-sector, private-sector, or industrial organizations.

Technical and Research Skills

Candidates should be able to apply modern analytics methods to real business problems. Relevant skills include:

• Business intelligence and decision support systems
