Position Overview

Surrey International Institute (SII) at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) is seeking an experienced Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Marketing.

The Institute is seeking candidates able to contribute to teaching in areas including:

• Marketing
• Supply Chain Management with Analytics
• Business Management and Analytics
• Management Information Systems
• Applied Analytics in Business
• Business Analytics Consultancy
• Fundamentals of Business Analytics

The Business Management with Analytics curriculum has been revamped to focus on digital transformation and business analytics.

The successful candidate will also work closely with module leaders at the University of Surrey to deliver modules on the China campus.

Responsibilities

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will contribute to undergraduate teaching and student support. Responsibilities include:

• Teaching undergraduate modules in Business Management and Analytics disciplines.
• Planning, delivering, and critically reviewing teaching and assessment activities appropriate to students' levels.
• Developing teaching methods that encourage positive interaction and student development.
• Setting and/or promptly marking coursework, practical sessions, and examinations.
• Providing students with appropriate feedback in accordance with marking rubrics.
• Providing regular consultation times, personal tutoring, and extracurricular support for students seeking subject guidance, assessment advice, or assistance with related issues.
• Participating in peer classroom observations and other staff development initiatives to improve quality.
• Working closely with University of Surrey module leaders in delivering modules on the China campus.

Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

• A doctoral degree in business management with analytics or a closely related field.
• Ability to design and teach courses in business management with analytics.
• Ability to teach a broader range of undergraduate fundamentals of business management with analytics.
• At least two years of teaching experience.
• Awareness of quality assurance processes in UK higher education.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to maintain effective communication with colleagues.
• Ability to use initiative to resolve problems or locate necessary information.
• Proven and sound undergraduate teaching experience, along with relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

The following are preferred:

• A Ph.D. in business management with analytics or a closely related field.
• A recent record of scholarship published in peer-reviewed journals.
• Teaching and/or industrial experience.
• UK and international teaching experience.
• A teaching qualification certificate.

Remuneration and Benefits

The salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience and will compare favourably with leading Chinese universities.
