Position Overview

Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (BiUH) invites applications for Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor positions in Accounting and Finance.

The university welcomes educators and researchers at different career stages, from early-career lecturers to established professors. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available for candidates committed to application-oriented education.

Faculty will teach accounting, finance, and related business subjects, contribute to curriculum development, advise undergraduate students, conduct applied research, and collaborate with industry partners.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Teach and assess at least three courses in the following core accounting and finance subjects:
    • Cost and Investment Accounting
    • Accounting and Finance
    • Fundamentals of Business Administration
    • Innovation and Project Management
  • Develop course materials and curricula aligned with international standards and industry financial practices.
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring to undergraduate students interested in accounting and finance careers.
  • Engage in applied research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Collaborate with industry partners on consulting projects and practical student training in real-world settings.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • A Master's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong expertise in accounting and finance.
  • The ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or above.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred or desirable:

  • Experience with accounting software and financial tools.
  • Industry experience in accounting, finance, investment analysis, or financial consulting is strongly preferred.
  • German language skills are desirable.
