Position Summary

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses while developing a strong research program with global impact.

Faculty members are expected to collaborate across disciplines, supervise graduate students, and contribute to the university's growing reputation in finance research, especially in emerging markets, the Middle East, and Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching

• Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses.
• Supervise Master's theses in Finance.
• Teach introductory finance courses when required.
• Develop engaging and innovative course content.
• Integrate new technologies and current industry trends into teaching.

Research

• Build an internationally recognized research program.
• Publish in leading peer-reviewed journals.
• Present research at major international conferences.
• Secure competitive external research funding.
• Build research partnerships with business and industry.

Student Supervision

• Mentor graduate students.
• Supervise research projects.
• Support student academic development.

Leadership and Service

• Participate in departmental and university service.
• Support curriculum development.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Represent AUC in national and international academic communities.

Industry and Community Engagement

• Build partnerships with industry and government.
• Translate research into practical business solutions.
• Support outreach and public engagement activities.
• Promote finance education across the region.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• A PhD in Finance, Economics, or a related business discipline.
• A degree from a respected university, preferably AACSB and/or EQUIS accredited.
• A strong record of scholarly research.
• Publications in ABDC A/A* journals or Scopus Q1/Q2 journals within the past five years.
• A commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and academic service.

Applicants who are completing their PhD should demonstrate:

• A strong research pipeline.
• High-quality research potential.
• Experience obtaining competitive research funding.
