Position Overview
Chemeketa Community College invites applications for part-time teaching roles within its Business Administration department. Key Responsibilities
Instructional Duties:

  • Deliver business courses as assigned using approved syllabi and instructional materials
  • Prepare course materials aligned with program expectations
  • Use effective teaching methods that support student learning
  • Maintain student records for attendance and grading

Course & Student Support:

  • Promote a learning environment that supports student growth and engagement
  • Respond to student inquiries and provide timely feedback
  • Communicate available campus resources
  • Foster respect, critical thinking, and lifelong learning

Program and Institutional Engagement:

  • Stay informed on departmental processes and goals
  • Participate in program-level assessments and institutional accreditation
  • Engage in student recruitment and retention efforts
  • Utilize technology tools relevant to course delivery and student success
  • Deliver high-quality service to students and colleagues

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration
    OR
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching business administration courses at the college level
  • Experience with adult learners in educational or business settings
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard)
  • Proficiency in office productivity tools
  • Background in working with students from diverse populations

Terms of Employment

  • Part-time position, variable hours based on departmental need
  • On-campus presence may be required
  • New faculty must participate in orientation
  • Employment contingent upon background check and provision of official transcripts
  • Must reside in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho
  • This role is part of a collective bargaining unit

Physical Requirements
Sedentary work, primarily involving sitting with occasional walking or light lifting.
