Position Overview
Okayama University’s Discovery Program for Global Learners invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in management. We are seeking an Associate Professor or Lecturer who is passionate about teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in a diverse, global environment. This role is ideal for those searching for business faculty jobs in Japan.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching:

  • Teach undergraduate management courses in English, including public management, research seminars, and interdisciplinary subjects within the “Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship” cluster.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students, and supervise their senior projects.
  • There may be opportunities to teach in other faculties.

Service:

  • Serve on university and departmental committees.
  • Support admissions, student recruitment, and public relations activities.

Research:

  • Conduct original scholarly research in management or related fields.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in management, business management, public management, or a closely related area (ABD candidates close to completion will be considered).
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring students in English.
  • Professional working proficiency in Japanese.
  • Experience or strong interest in teaching students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to relocate to Okayama City or the surrounding area after appointment.

Appointment Details

  • Start Date: April 1, 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter).
  • Tenure-Track Period: Five years, with a tenure review following internal regulations.
  • Retirement Age: 65 years old.

    • Recent teaching evaluations (if available)
  4. Two published writing samples in English
  5. Copy of your highest degree diploma

  7. At least two reference letters in English or Japanese
