About the Opportunity
East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City, Tennessee, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor role in Supply Chain Management. The Department of Management and Supply Chain seeks candidates with strong skills in teaching, research, and service, who are eager to join a supportive, AACSB-accredited business school environment. The position is open for Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Fall 2026, depending on candidate availability.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate business administration faculty courses in supply chain management, both online and in person. You will be expected to develop and maintain a productive research agenda, publish in respected academic journals, and engage in community and institutional service. Active participation in student recruitment, mentoring, and continuous program improvement is encouraged. We welcome candidates who build strong community relationships and promote student career growth through experiential learning.

About the College and Department
The College of Business and Technology at ETSU employs around 100 full-time faculty members and serves over 3,000 students. Students can pursue business school faculty jobs in areas such as accounting, digital media, economics, finance, management, marketing, and supply chain. Graduate programs include degrees in accountancy, brand strategy, business administration, digital marketing, and digital media. ETSU’s business programs are AACSB-accredited, providing a solid foundation for faculty and students.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or DBA in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Decision Sciences, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited business school, completed by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of scholarly research or strong research potential, as shown by high-quality publications or a clear research agenda.
  • Effective teaching or strong potential in supply chain management courses, both online and in-person, at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Experience with curriculum development or improvement.
  • Ability to use technology, such as AI or simulation tools, in the classroom.
  • Relevant industry or professional experience.
  • History of program innovation, interdisciplinary work, or service to academic and professional communities.

  • Ability to maintain a high-quality research agenda.
  • Ability to teach in multiple formats.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to use technology to support student learning.
