Salisbury University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance in the Perdue School of Business. The preferred start date is August 15, 2027.

Position Overview

The Department of Finance seeks a dedicated faculty member who is committed to student success, scholarly research, and service. The standard teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester, with a reduced 6-credit teaching load during the first academic year to support a successful transition into the role.

Faculty members are expected to:

  • Teach primarily undergraduate finance courses.
  • Conduct high-quality scholarly research consistent with AACSB standards.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
  • Participate in university, departmental, and community service activities.
  • Support experiential learning initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution by the time of appointment.
  • ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed before the start date.
  • Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching and student mentoring.
  • Evidence of strong scholarly research potential or achievement.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Interest in teaching financial markets and institutions.
  • Interest in investments.
  • Interest in developing courses in fintech or AI in finance.
  • Commitment to experiential learning.
