The University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) is a new, innovative, and digitally focused institution officially opening in 2024. Our mission is to prepare graduates for leadership in the digital world by offering programs that connect directly to careers in high-demand industries. Programs include Honours Bachelor of Business Administration, Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications, Master of Data Analytics, and Master of Management. Position Details
Title: Assistant Professor – Economics (BBA) – 12-Month Contract
Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (Onsite Hybrid; minimum 3 days/week)
Reports To: Associate Dean – BBA
Expected Hiring Salary: Starting at $91,800
Contract: Full-time, 12-month term

About the BBA Program
The Bachelor of Business Administration program provides a strong foundation in business fundamentals with a focus on the digital economy. Areas include digital commerce, finance and accounting, human resources, marketing, analytics, and customer experience. Students graduate with critical thinking skills, teamwork experience, entrepreneurial ability, and a digital-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in economics, integrating real-world economic issues and data-driven case studies.
  • Apply expertise in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and applied theory.
  • Incorporate emerging topics such as data analytics, behavioral economics, or AI in economic modeling.
  • Mentor students and foster inclusive, student-focused learning environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate/Ph.D. in Economics, Financial Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Economics or related fields, plus at least 5 years of relevant professional or academic experience.
  • Minimum 5 years teaching economics in post-secondary, preferably with graduate-level experience.
  • Strong teaching record in multi-modal formats (in-person, hybrid, online).

Preferred Experience

  • Professional background in economic consulting, international development, or applied economics.
  • Experience with data analytics, behavioral economics, or AI applications in economics.
  • Graduate-level teaching experience in Master of Economics or Master of Public Policy programs.
