Accounting Faculty Position

Position Overview
The American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB) invites applications for a full-time Accounting Faculty position (Open Rank) beginning Fall or Spring 2025–26. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to teach, research, and contribute to the growth of a dynamic new College of Business in one of the world’s most historically rich academic cities.

Responsibilities
Faculty will teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as Accounting Information Systems, Financial Statement Analysis, Cost Accounting, and Auditing and Accountability. The position involves:

• Developing engaging syllabi and course materials.
• Designing clear learning outcomes and fair evaluation rubrics.
• Maintaining accurate student records and submitting grades on time.
• Holding regular office hours to support student learning.
• Contributing to curriculum design and accreditation preparation.
• Participating in university committees and attending key campus events.
• Building professional connections to enhance student and institutional success.

Qualifications

• PhD in Accounting or a closely related discipline from an accredited, English-medium university (preferably U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, or Ireland).
• Minimum 3 years of full-time college-level teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with international or multilingual learners is highly desirable.
• Proven or potential record of scholarship or professional practice.
• Strong integrity, teamwork, and flexibility in diverse settings.
• Background in program development or accreditation is a plus.
