Faculty Instructor (Applied Higher Education)

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Teach courses using a practical, real-world approach
• Follow course syllabus and program goals
• Use educational technology (e.g., LMS, digital tools)
• Support second-language learners with clear instruction
• Give regular feedback using tests, projects, and assignments

Student Support

• Advise and guide students
• Help at-risk students succeed
• Hold office hours for one-on-one help
• Support internships and work placements

Assessment

• Track student progress
• Update grades on time
• Help develop exams and coursework
• Ensure fair and clear evaluation

Research & Engagement

• Conduct applied research linked to industry needs
• Attend conferences and mentor student research
• Join academic and community events

Service & Leadership

• Serve on committees
• Support student clubs and activities
• Help develop UAE national talent
• Mentor junior staff when needed

Administrative Duties

• Prepare course reports (eCAF, CAR)
• Help improve curriculum and courses
• Support quality assurance processes
• Assist with exams and invigilation

Workload

• 36.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
• Some Saturday duties (e.g., exams)
• Teaching load: 15 credit hours per semester

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field (preferred)
  OR
• Master’s degree + professional certification + 5 years experience
  OR
• Bachelor’s degree + strong industry experience (case-by-case)

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years teaching experience
• Industry experience (preferred)
• Experience with:
  • Curriculum development
  • Accreditation standards
  • Educational technology
