About the Opportunity
Oklahoma State University’s School of Entrepreneurship in the Spears School of Business invites applications for the leadership role of Department Head. This is a unique chance to join a respected business school that offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. We seek an individual who can lead, inspire, and help us grow our national and international reputation for teaching and research in business administration and entrepreneurship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership that strengthens a collaborative, respectful team culture.
  • Work closely with the Dean to advance the Spears School of Business’s strategic plan and support ongoing accreditation with AACSB.
  • Oversee all departmental operations, including budget management, expanding resources, and supervising staff and faculty.
  • Mentor faculty members to support their professional growth and development.
  • Drive research excellence in entrepreneurship and support faculty research goals.
  • Lead efforts to further build the School’s national and global reputation in entrepreneurship education and business faculty excellence.
  • Recruit talented students for our undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs.
  • Represent the department in alumni, industry, and community activities, supporting student placement and university partnerships.
  • Collaborate with advisory boards and work with other departments to enhance academic programs and student success.
  • Maintain scholarly academic status and pursue ongoing professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in entrepreneurship, management, or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution (or equivalent).
  • Strong record in research, teaching, and professional service, ideally with experience as a tenured full professor in business administration or entrepreneurship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with planning, program development, evaluation, and external relations.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain a culture of openness, collaboration, and respect.

Salary and Benefits
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
