Harris-Stowe State University is seeking a dedicated Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship to join the Anheuser-Busch School of Business. Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction
You will teach courses in entrepreneurship, small business management, startup strategy, and applied innovation. The position requires you to use practical, hands-on methodsβ€”such as project-based instruction and business simulationsβ€”to give students skills they can use right away. Integrating business technologies and digital tools is encouraged to support student learning.

Collaboration with CIE
Work with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to lead business plan competitions, guide student ventures, and build connections with the community. You will help create interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that promote innovation and entrepreneurship across the university.

Curriculum and Program Development
Be part of ongoing efforts to improve the entrepreneurship curriculum. Identify new course ideas and co-curricular activities that match the latest business trends. Your insights will help ensure that program offerings stay relevant for today’s business world.

Advising and Student Support
Advise and mentor students who are interested in business ownership or leadership. Encourage their participation in local and regional entrepreneurial activities. Your guidance can make a difference in their success as future entrepreneurs.

Service and Institutional Engagement
Take part in school and university service through committees and special initiatives. Support the mission and vision of the Anheuser-Busch School of Business by helping with strategic planning and community engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Business, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Proven experience in entrepreneurship, small business ownership, or startup development
  • Strong teaching skills and a commitment to applied, experiential learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • College-level teaching experience, both in-person and online
  • Background working with business incubators, accelerators, or entrepreneurial organizations
  • Familiarity with business technologies used in venture development

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to lead student-centered, experiential courses
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills
  • Understanding of business model design, startup ecosystems, and entrepreneurial strategy

Work Environment
You will work in standard classrooms and offices, with some off-campus engagement for business and community events.
