Position Overview

The College of Business Administration (COBA) at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor of Human Resource Management position in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

COBA was established in 2006 and offers five undergraduate majors and two graduate programs. The College is AACSB accredited and maintains cooperative relationships with universities internationally.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, student advising, academic service, program development, and College initiatives, including activities related to accreditation.

Teaching and Academic Responsibilities

Full-time faculty teach during the Fall and Spring semesters, with possible opportunities to teach during the Summer semester. Classes may be scheduled during the day or evening.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach a broad range of general and skills-based business administration courses at the undergraduate level.
  • Contribute to School and faculty policies and practices related to teaching and research.
  • Participate in the design, development, planning, and review of courses and programs.
  • Contribute to assessment, quality assurance, and quality enhancement.
  • Develop innovative approaches to learning and teaching, as appropriate.
  • Provide timely feedback and assessment of coursework and examinations.
  • Advise and support students, referring them to specialist services when appropriate.
  • Attend faculty meetings and university events.
  • Serve on committees and participate in academic scholarship and professional development.
  • Maintain appropriate scholarly or professional development activities and remain current with developments in the field.
  • Participate in the comprehensive advising of students majoring in the College.
  • Contribute to College and external committees and groups, as appropriate.
  • Contribute to management, administrative processes, and committee structures within the School, faculty, and College.
  • Participate in, manage, or lead initiatives supporting School, faculty, or College performance and accreditation, as required.
  • Participate in the recruitment, management, development, and mentoring of colleagues, as required.
  • Perform other position-related duties requested by the Chair, Dean, Vice President, or President.

Male faculty members may request, or may be required, to teach courses at the graduate level.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have:

  • A doctorate in Human Resource Management or a closely related field from an accredited Western residential university.
  • A minimum of two years of post-graduation teaching experience in Human Resource Management.
  • Knowledge of HR analytics, talent management, HR information systems, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience using management applications and tools, including advanced Excel and simulation techniques.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods, such as the flipped classroom.
  • Ability to deliver microcredentials in Human Resource Management.
  • An active research profile in Human Resource Management.
  • Familiarity with technology-infused academic environments.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Candidates applying at the Associate Professor rank must provide a letter of promotion from an academic institution with documented due process to the rank of Associate Professor.

Additional Preferred Qualifications and Experience

The posting identifies the following as preferred or beneficial:

  • Ph.D. holders from AACSB-accredited universities will be preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of demonstrated teaching excellence in programs where English is the language of instruction.
  • An active research record demonstrated through publications in refereed journals and conference participation.
  • Willingness to contribute to university and community service and to participate in department, college, and university initiatives, particularly those related to accreditation.
  • Experience with AACSB accreditation is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East, particularly in GCC countries, is an added bonus.
