Position Details

Title: Assistant Teaching Professor of Accounting

Department: College of Business, Accounting, Finance, and Business Law

Type: 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track

Location: Primarily on-site in Colorado Springs; partial remote options may be available depending on department needs

Start Date: August 2025

Salary Range: $68,000 – $72,000 per academic year (based on experience and qualifications). Includes professional development funding.
Key Responsibilities
-
Teaching: Teach 8 courses per academic year, mainly introductory financial and managerial accounting. Classes may be in-person, online, or hybrid.

Service: Contribute to college and university service (10%).

Professional Development: Engage in ongoing practice-related activities to meet AACSB “Instructional Practitioner” requirements (10%).

Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for candidates who have:

A completed MBA, Master’s in Accounting, or Bachelor’s in Accounting plus active professional certification (CPA, CMA, or similar)

At least two years of full-time professional accounting experience

Strong ethics, a caring attitude, and a commitment to student-centered teaching

Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior teaching experience

Degree(s) from AACSB or similarly accredited institutions

Experience teaching in person, online, and hybrid formats

Current engagement in professional accounting activities

Additional accounting certifications
