Assistant Professor – Technology and Innovation Management
The Department of Management in the College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Technology and Innovation Management to begin Fall 2026. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in cybercrime and technology management. Current and future undergraduate and graduate programs require sustained coverage in strategy, innovation, emerging technology, and technology leadership to meet Nebraska’s workforce needs and align with institutional priorities in digital transformation and economic development.
About the Position:
The rapid growth of AI, cybersecurity threats, data-driven decision-making, and digital platforms has reshaped organizational strategy across industries. Employers increasingly expect graduates to understand the strategic implications of emerging technologies, cyber risk, and digital governance. This hire will teach core undergraduate and graduate courses while developing specialized electives that strengthen UNO’s distinctiveness in technology-focused business education and support interdisciplinary collaboration in cybersecurity, counterterrorism, and public administration. Ability and willingness to deliver instruction in multiple modalities is expected.
Beyond instruction, this faculty member will advance the College’s research profile in technology and innovation management. A focused research agenda in these areas will enhance external funding opportunities, industry partnerships, and policy engagement while reinforcing UNO’s leadership within the NU System. The new hire will support long-term capacity building through sustained scholarship, grant activity, curriculum development, and student mentorship. This hire is essential for maintaining program quality, expanding high-demand offerings, and positioning CBA as a leader in technology-driven organizational security education. Meaningful service and community engagement activities are also expected.
Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. degree in business administration, Management, Strategy, Leadership, Innovation, MIS, cybersecurity, or a closely related field, with an emphasis in information systems, technology and innovation management, from an accredited institution (AACSB accreditation is preferred).
