Position Overview
The Department of Information Systems and Analytics at McCoy College of Business, Texas State University, invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice. This business school faculty job starts in Spring 2026 and focuses on business information systems security, cybersecurity, and cybersecurity analytics.

About the Role
We seek a candidate with hands-on experience in business information systems security, cybersecurity, or cybersecurity analytics. Practical experience may include work in industry, government, non-profit, or research centers. The ideal candidate will teach and develop graduate and undergraduate courses, focusing on real-world applications and quantitative methods to solve business administration challenges in cybersecurity.

You will also be encouraged to:

  • Contribute to the department’s research through publications and collaboration
  • Supervise students and create industry connections
  • Bring applied research opportunities and engage with external organizations
  • Serve the department, college, university, and the wider professional community

Teaching is required at both the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned Ph.D., D.B.A, or ABD (with completion by hire date) in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field from an internationally accredited institution
  • Ability to meet AACSB Scholarly Academics requirements
  • Professional experience in business information systems security, cybersecurity, or cybersecurity analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • College-level teaching experience in information security or cybersecurity (undergraduate and graduate)
  • Experience teaching in online, hybrid, or face-to-face formats
  • Industry consulting in networking, security, or analytics
  • Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited business school with focus on business information systems security
  • Publication record or potential in peer-reviewed journals
