Position Overview
VUU invites applications for the role of Assistant Professor of Accounting within our business school faculty. This full-time position is ideal for those passionate about teaching, research, and student mentorship in a diverse academic environment. Do you enjoy helping students grow? Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of accounting courses, including Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, and Accounting Information Systems.
- Develop and deliver engaging course content in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats.
- Maintain an active research agenda focused on publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
- Advise and mentor students regarding academic and career choices.
- Contribute to curriculum development and ongoing improvement of the accounting program.
- Participate in university service, such as committee work and accreditation activities (e.g., ACBSP, AACSB if relevant).
- Collaborate with industry partners to create experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Support the mission and values of VUU, demonstrating a commitment to inclusive, equitable teaching.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds as part of essential duties.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution (ABD candidates with planned completion by the start date will be considered).
- Proven effective teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Dedication to academic excellence and student-centered teaching in a diverse learning environment.
