About the Opportunity
The Department of Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics, University of Memphis, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Teaching in Finance. This business faculty job is a non-tenure-track position with teaching duties beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. The role is based primarily at the Memphis campus, with some online and possible off-campus teaching. Final hiring depends on budget approval.

Key Responsibilities
The Visiting Assistant Professor of Teaching will:

  • Teach eight finance courses per academic year, focusing on both undergraduate and graduate students
  • Support and lead key departmental activities, especially in the Cook Analytics & Trading Lab
  • Deliver effective instruction for finance courses, including classes that prepare students for CFP/CFA certifications
  • Evaluate student learning and support high achievement
  • Help maintain AACSB scholarly academic status
  • Assist with lab operations, tech support, and lab web presence
  • Recruit students and support finance clubs, competitions, and inter-university activities
  • Maintain connections with the CFA Society, FPA Society, and support the Finance Club and related university events
  • Serve on Department and College Committees

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or ABD in finance
  • Strong record of research and professional engagement to qualify as Scholarly Academic under AACSB standards is preferred
