Position Summary
Cal Poly is building a pool of qualified part-time lecturers to teach taxation courses in the Accounting Area of the Orfalea College of Business during the 2025–2026 academic year. This opportunity is ideal for professionals and academics seeking business faculty jobs focused on taxation in an AACSB-accredited business school.

Key Responsibilities
Selected candidates may be appointed to teach undergraduate or graduate taxation courses—based on availability and department needs—in any of the following areas:
• Individual Taxation
• Corporate Taxation
• Partnership Taxation
• Estate & Gift Taxation
• Multi-State and International Tax
• Tax Reorganizations

Qualifications
• Master’s degree in taxation, accounting, or a closely related field
• Active professional certification (e.g., CPA)
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness and professional currency
• Relevant professional or academic teaching experience in taxation

Appointment Details
Appointments are temporary and often finalized shortly before the start of an academic term. Candidates must be available on short notice.
Lecturer ranks and pay as of July 2024:
• Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677
• Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224
• Lecturer C: $6,825–$14,523
• Lecturer D: $8,593–$15,211
