Position Overview
The Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in the Accounting Area for the 2025–26 academic year. These business faculty jobs involve in-person instruction across financial accounting, managerial accounting, income taxation, and accounting information systems. Appointments are made on a temporary basis, often just before the start of a term, and depend on budget and enrollment availability.

Compensation
Salary ranges are based on rank and professional qualifications:

  • Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677/month
  • Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224/month
  • Lecturer C: $6,825–$14,523/month
  • Lecturer D: $8,593–$15,211/month
    (Note: Most new hires enter at the Lecturer A or B level.)

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, accounting, or related discipline
  • Professional certification in accounting or relevant field
  • Demonstrated currency in the professional field
  • Relevant professional and/or teaching experience

Special Conditions

  • Designated as a mandated reporter under California law
  • Employment is contingent upon successful background check
  • This position does not offer H-1B sponsorship
  • Out-of-state employment is not permitted under CSU policy
  • Cal Poly is a smoke- and tobacco-free campus
