Business Faculty Position – Finance (Full-Time, Remote) | WGU

Compensation
Salary for this full-time faculty role is based on experience, training, and credentials, with a typical range of $68,600 to $103,000 (Faculty Grade 506). WGU considers several factors for compensation decisions.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop instructional materials aligned with course goals and competencies.
• Lead engaging, virtual events to support student learning and participation.
• Deliver one-to-one virtual instruction and provide timely coaching for student success.
• Facilitate online student communities and encourage effective collaboration.
• Adapt teaching strategies to address diverse learning needs and student backgrounds.
• Use student data and feedback to identify and support those needing extra help.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a collaborative faculty environment.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Graduate-level coursework in Finance (15+ credit hours required); terminal degree in Finance preferred.
• At least 2-3 years’ teaching experience with adult learners, preferably online.
• 3-5 years of industry experience in Finance; professional credentials (CFP, CFA, CPA, CMA, FPAC, or similar) are highly valued.
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA with strong graduate-level finance training.
• Ability to make complex topics simple and engaging for students.
• Strong communication skills and experience supporting at-risk learners.
• Comfortable working from a dedicated office in the continental United States.
• Flexible schedule to meet student needs, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal degree and 5+ years of experience in the finance industry.
• 3+ years of finance instruction, especially in an online or distance education setting.
