Overview
Join the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Marketing. We are seeking candidates for a non-tenure Instructional Track Faculty role. The position is open at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Instruction or Practice level, with the start date in Fall 2025. Salary and rank depend on qualifications and experience.

About the Role
This is a full-time position focused on teaching in business administration, with a specialization in marketing and sales. The faculty member will teach eight classes per year and receive a contract ranging from one to seven years, based on experience and rank. Comprehensive benefits are included.

You will also serve as the director of the Sales and Customer Development Collaborative (SCDC). This leadership role includes administrative support, with possible course releases or a stipend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead student development and engagement in the SCDC
  • Act as the main industry contact for the Collaborative
  • Oversee fundraising and manage the Collaborative’s budget
  • Supervise student internships, placement, and events such as sales competitions, job fairs, and seminars
  • Travel to collegiate sales competitions and related functions
  • Manage the Collaborative’s communications, website, and newsletter
  • Identify and coordinate corporate training opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree in a related field
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in marketing or sales
  • OR a strong record in corporate sales training
  • 5–10 years of industry experience in professional sales or sales management
  • Experience teaching sales management or advanced sales (CRM, analytics)
  • Experience supervising internships or clinical field experiences
  • Participation in professional organizations

Desirable Qualifications

  • Doctorate in a related field
  • Experience leading a university sales program
  • Alumni or corporate engagement experience
  • Fundraising experience
