Position Overview
Washburn University’s Greg and Ronda Brenneman School of Business in Topeka, Kansas, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting position beginning Fall 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking business school faculty jobs in an AACSB-accredited program that emphasizes teaching excellence and inclusive education.

About the School
The Brenneman School of Business serves over 600 students across its BBA, MBA, and MAcc programs. The School is AACSB-accredited and offers a supportive academic environment with substantial teaching and research resources. In January 2027, the School will relocate to the newly renovated $43 million Advisors Excel Hall, a state-of-the-art academic facility.

Teaching & Research Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, which may include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I & II, and specialized courses aligned with your expertise.
  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Engage in scholarly research and contribute to service activities consistent with AACSB standards.
  • Participate in professional development supported by the School, including access to financial databases, software, travel funding, and summer research opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Accounting (ABD candidates considered if the degree is completed within the first year).
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in accounting.
  • Academic and professional qualifications aligned with AACSB accreditation.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching practices that support diverse learners.
  • Official academic transcripts required at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching intermediate and advanced accounting or tax courses.
  • Familiarity with accounting information systems.
  • Interest in teaching accounting-related data analytics.
