Department of Management and International Business (MIB)
MIB is a vibrant department comprising five key disciplinary areas: Organisation Studies, HRM & Organisational Behaviour, International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy. Our academics are active contributors to research centres including the Aotearoa Centre for Leadership and Governance and the Centre for Research on Modern Slavery. We deliver core content across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes and are active contributors to the MBA and Master of Business Management.

Position Summary
We invite applications for a full-time, permanent position at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level in Human Resource Analytics within the HR/Organisational Behaviour discipline. This role is ideal for academics passionate about HR and data-driven decision-making, particularly in areas like recruitment, employee development, and well-being.

The successful candidate will teach across HR and general business analytics courses and will be expected to demonstrate innovative and effective pedagogical practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Human Resource Management and Business Analytics
  • Conduct and publish research in top-tier journals (e.g., ABDC A*, ABS 4*)
  • Supervise research students at the Master’s and PhD levels
  • Contribute to curriculum design and development
  • Engage with industry and pursue funding opportunities
  • Collaborate across departments and research centres

Qualifications and Experience

  • PhD in Human Resource Management or a closely related field (or near completion)
  • For Lecturer level: strong research potential and teaching promise
  • For Senior Lecturer level: established research portfolio with publications in leading journals
  • Ability to teach HR and analytics topics using diverse teaching methods
  • Experience designing academic programmes or courses is desirable
  • Proven or potential record of securing internal or external research funding

Employment Terms

  • Full-time, permanent appointment (40 hours/week)
  • Salary range: NZD $94,981 – $151,251, depending on experience
  • Start date: Negotiable
