Job Summary:
The Management Department at the Manning School of Business invites applications for the Robert J. Manning Endowed Chair in Corporate Sustainability. This is a full-time, tenured faculty position at the full professor level (or advanced associate professor), reserved for candidates with a distinguished research record in Corporate Sustainability or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The successful candidate will conduct high-impact research, mentor Ph.D., graduate, and undergraduate students, and develop courses in Corporate Sustainability and CSR at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Endowed Chair receives:

  • A competitive base (9-month) salary
  • An annual one-month summer salary
  • Substantial research funding for conference travel, hosting seminars, and other academic expenses
  • Ph.D. research assistance and administrative support
  • A reduced teaching load of three courses per academic year

The initial appointment is for five years, renewable in three-year terms based on research, teaching, and service performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high-impact research agenda in Corporate Sustainability or CSR, publishing in top-tier journals
  • Develop and teach Corporate Sustainability and CSR courses at undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Supervise and mentor Ph.D., graduate, and undergraduate students
  • Collaborate with faculty and engage with academic associations such as the Academy of Management and the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability
  • Provide external service and leadership to the profession

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Management or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution
  • Tenured Full Professor (or advanced Associate Professor) with a nationally recognized research record in Corporate Sustainability or CSR
  • Proven track record of top-tier publications in general management journals
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse academic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Ph.D. student supervision and mentoring
  • Demonstrated commitment to service at institutional and professional levels
  • Engagement with Corporate Sustainability and CSR academic communities
