Tenured Faculty Position in Marketing – Associate/Full Professor
University at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo)

The School of Management at the University at Buffalo (State University of New York, SUNY Buffalo) invites applications and nominations for a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Marketing. This is a 10-month position with an expected start date of September 1, 2025. The selected candidate will play a critical role in advancing the school’s research profile and delivering high-quality teaching in marketing.

  • Outstanding Research Excellence: A strong record of influential scholarship, supported by a robust citation record, making the candidate eligible for a tenured appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at an AAU (Association of American Universities) institution.
  • Academic Leadership and Collaboration: A proven track record of fostering academic growth, enhancing research collaborations, and building connections across faculty, alumni, and affiliated units.
  • Teaching Excellence: Success in teaching at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, including experience in online education.

Department of Marketing Overview

The Department of Marketing at UB comprises nine full-time faculty members with expertise spanning behavioral and quantitative marketing. The department hosts the Center for Marketing Analysis, which connects academic research with industry needs through innovative education programs. The Behavioral Research Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art neuromarketing tools, including eye-tracking, facial coding, and galvanic skin response technology, facilitating impactful research into human decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree (PhD) in a business discipline or related field.
  • A demonstrated record of influential scholarship at a major research university.
  • A strong publication record in top-tier marketing journals (e.g., Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Science, Management Science).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience, particularly in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • Experience mentoring faculty and graduate students.
  • Interest in enhancing the research and outreach capabilities of the Center for Marketing Analysis and/or the Behavioral Research Lab.
