The Management Division at La Roche University is seeking a qualified Assistant Professor of Marketing to join the faculty in August 2025. The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses within the Marketing Department, both online and in traditional classroom settings. Applicants should have a doctorate or be in the process of completing a doctorate in Marketing, Communications, or a related business discipline by May 2026.

Ideal candidates will have experience teaching at the university or college level in both classroom and online formats. In addition to teaching and advising students, the Assistant Professor will participate in departmental meetings, committee work, and other divisional activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Teaching Assignments:

  • Teach four (4) courses per semester (Fall and Spring), equivalent to 12 credit hours per semester, in both online and traditional course formats. Course assignments will be based on academic and professional qualifications.
  • Advise students on academic, curricular, and professional matters.
  • Graduate-level teaching may also be required.

Concurrent Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
  • Evaluate and grade students' coursework, assignments, and exams.
  • Develop and distribute course materials such as syllabi, assignments, and course documents.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other necessary documentation.
  • Lead classroom discussions in both in-person and online settings.
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise course curricula, content, materials, and teaching methods.
  • Hold regular office hours to advise and support students in academic and career-related matters.
  • Utilize educational technologies such as Canvas and smart classrooms for teaching, advising, and assessment.
  • Stay updated on developments in the field through reading, consulting with colleagues, and engaging in professional organizations and conferences.
  • Participate in scholarly development activities, including publications and conference presentations.
  • Pursue professional development in both the field of specialization and in teaching and curriculum development.
  • Provide service to the University by serving on faculty and administrative committees.
  • Participate in academic assessment processes and assist with accreditation/compliance reports; support student recruitment efforts with the admissions office.
  • Attend faculty and division meetings, as well as academic events such as Convocation, Baccalaureate, and Commencement.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Required: Doctorate in Marketing, Communications, or a related business discipline.
  • ABD candidates with relevant experience, expecting to complete their dissertation by May 2026, will be considered.
  • Teaching experience at the college/university level is strongly preferred.
  • Professional work experience in the field is required.
