Overview:
Texas A&M University-San Antonio invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Management, set to begin in either Spring or Fall 2025. The College of Business, which holds AACSB accreditation, is looking for a candidate who has either completed a Ph.D. in Management or is ABD with near completion by August 2025. This role involves teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, primarily in areas such as Human Resources and Organizational Behavior, along with other management subjects as required by the department.


Teaching and Research Expectations:

  • Courses: The candidate will typically teach three courses per semester (3/3 load), with the possibility of a reduced load during the first two years based on available funding.
  • Commitment: Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching, active engagement in scholarly research, and the potential to publish in top-tier discipline/business journals.
  • Service: A meaningful contribution to service within the institution is expected.
  • Resources: Faculty have access to research databases, including WRDS.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Management from an AACSB accredited institution. ABD candidates are welcome if nearing completion by August 2025.
  • At least 18 graduate credit hours in every subject area that the candidate will be teaching.

Preferred:

  • Experience teaching a broad range of management courses, especially in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior.
  • Background in both on-campus and distance education (hybrid and online formats), with the flexibility to teach classes during the day, evenings, or weekends.
  • Research and/or industry experience in Human Resource Management or related areas is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with or interest in applying AI tools within the field.
