About the Position

The Carlson School of Management is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in Finance. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in high-quality research, teaching, and service activities within the school and university.

Key Responsibilities

Research Activities:

  • Conduct and publish high-impact research in finance.
  • Foster research development within the school and mentor doctoral candidates.
  • Engage with scientific communities and contribute to scholarly journals.

Teaching Activities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in finance across multiple levels, including undergraduate, MBA, PhD, and executive education programs.
  • Develop and refine course content to enhance student learning.

Service Activities:

  • Participate in departmental, school, and university committees.
  • Engage in initiatives that support the growth and reputation of the Carlson School.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Finance, Economics, or a related field (completed or near completion).
  • Strong potential for scholarly achievements in finance, with high-quality research in progress.
  • Candidates currently holding an Assistant Professor position should demonstrate significant research accomplishments.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues.

The Carlson School’s Finance Department is globally recognized for its expertise in financial decision-making, markets, and institutions. Faculty members publish in top-tier finance and economics journals and contribute to the school's reputation for excellence in research and teaching. The department offers finance education at the undergraduate, MBA, MSF, and PhD levels.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $255,000–$270,000 (based on qualifications and experience).
  • Appointment Type: 75%-100% full-time faculty position.
