Faculty Position in Finance

The College of Business Administration at PMU invites applications for a faculty position in Finance at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a broad range of fundamental and advanced courses in Finance, participate in faculty meetings, engage in university events, serve on committees, and contribute to academic research and professional development.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field from an accredited Western residential university.
  • A minimum of two years of post-Ph.D. teaching experience in Finance, with knowledge of Islamic Finance, stock market simulation, and finance analytics, including advanced Excel.
  • Experience with management applications and tools (e.g., stock trading simulation) and innovative teaching methods such as flipped classrooms.
  • Professional certifications are preferred.
  • Ph.D. holders from AACSB-accredited institutions will be given preference.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • At least three years of demonstrated teaching excellence in English-language programs.
  • A strong research record, with publications in refereed journals and conferences.
  • A willingness to engage in university and community service and participate in accreditation efforts.
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Experience with AACSB accreditation is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with technology-enhanced learning environments.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East or GCC countries is a plus.

Applicants for Associate or Full Professor positions must provide official documentation of promotion to their current rank from an academic institution with a documented review process.

Responsibilities

Academic & Research Contributions:

  • Maintain an active research agenda, staying updated on developments in the field.
  • Participate in student advisement and mentoring.
  • Represent the university in professional committees and academic groups.
  • Contribute to the College’s management, administrative processes, and accreditation initiatives.
  • Support faculty recruitment, development, and mentoring efforts.

Teaching & Student Engagement:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction across Finance courses.
  • Design and develop innovative curricula and teaching materials.
  • Play a key role in course and program assessment, quality assurance, and curriculum enhancement.
  • Provide timely feedback and evaluation of student coursework and examinations.
  • Offer academic guidance and mentorship to students.
