University Overview:
Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU), established in 2012 in Wenzhou, China, is one of three Sino-American universities, alongside NYU Shanghai and Duke Kunshan University, approved by China's Ministry of Education. In collaboration with Kean University—a comprehensive public institution in New Jersey accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education—WKU offers a distinctive educational model. The College of Business and Public Management holds AACSB accreditation. Wenzhou, a dynamic and economically advanced city on China's East Coast, is just an hour's flight or a three-hour high-speed train journey from Shanghai.
Situated on a picturesque 500-acre campus, WKU currently enrolls approximately 5,000 students, with plans to expand to 8,500 within the next five years. Instruction is conducted entirely in English, following curricula provided by Kean University. Beyond its 18 undergraduate programs, WKU has received approval from the Ministry of Education to offer eight master's and three doctoral programs. The university emphasizes research-driven teaching and learning, boasting faculty publication rates and a field-weighted citation impact among the top tier of Chinese academic institutions.
Position Details:
WKU invites applications for a full-time, 10-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Global Business, commencing in Fall 2025 (August 16). The successful candidate will teach Global Business and related courses at both undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels, engage in research, provide student advising, and contribute to university service. Classes may be scheduled on weekdays or weekends, during daytime or evening hours, typically spanning four days per week during the standard four-month fall and spring semesters, or five days per week during the Winter Session (three weeks in January) or Summer Session (four weeks in June). The teaching load is 24 credits (eight courses) per academic year, with a six-credit release annually for the first three years contingent upon research publication output.
